El Dorado County sheriff's deputy Jon Yaws and his canine partner Donder
reunited Thursday at Sutter Roseville. Yaws, Donder and fellow deputies Greg

If he could only tell you, he would probably express his thanks. But excuse
Donder if he's not quite the dog he used to be.
He can't sleep. He can't rest. He's probably in a bit of pain.
Donder took a bullet to the chest Tuesday during a Shingle Springs shootout that
wounded three deputies -- including Donder's handler, El Dorado Sheriff's Deputy
Jon Yaws, who was shot at least three times.
The deputies are being hailed as heroes -- but so, too, is Donder, a 6-year-old
Belgian Tervuren who has melted hearts. "Godspeed and a full recovery to
all three officers and, of course, Donder," stated a message posted
Wednesday on The Bee's Web site.

El Dorado County is more than just a place to live. I have built a successful business here, the Breaker Glass Co. This county is my home. It’s where my wife Kathy and I are raising our children. I am running for El Dorado County Supervisor, District 2, in the 2008 elections.
Providing the resources needed by The Sheriff’s Department and District Attorney’s Office to keep our families safe and ensuring that Firefighters have the tools needed to protect our homes is a goal I will work to achieve.
Using my experience as a business owner I will work to create more jobs and opportunities, before we add more rooftops. Road improvements and maintenance are a top priority. I will work hard and go above and beyond in your behalf, and I will do my homework and show up on time.
If you speak I will listen. It is my commitment to be the kind of Supervisor of which I, my kids, and future generations can be proud.

join in helping the victims of the Angora fire in Tahoe at the Spaghetti Feed benefit
at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. "My heart goes out to the
victims of the fire. The overwhelming support by citizens of all areas of
the county make you proud to be here and really demonstrates why El Dorado
County is so special. Some might say there is a divide between the Western
Slope and the Tahoe Basin, but it is only a divide in the watershed, not in the
heart."]]>
This
year I took great pleasure in being asked to be the Master of Ceremonies of
"Men’s March to STOP Rape" a movement to end rape and sexual
assault. when men disrespect women, we say "THAT’S NOT RIGHT."
Men can stop rape. Men, women, and children are invited to participate in
calling for an end to sexual violence.
I have supported this annual event in El Dorado County for several years and support the sponsors, Our Strength is Not for Hurting and the El Dorado County Women's Center.
MyStrength is a project of the California Department of Health Services and the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA), a statewide coalition of rape crisis centers and prevention programs founded in 1980.
The mission is to provide leadership, vision and resources for rape crisis centers, individuals and other entities committed to ending sexual violence.
